EDUCATION WORKSHOPS

Cross-curriculum workshops and activities for schools, libraries, groups and museums.

Ignite young imaginations with Hoglets Theatre's dynamic and immersive educational workshops!

Tailored for EYFS, KS1, and KS2, our workshops are designed to seamlessly integrate with the curriculum, offering unique experiences in physical theatre, storytelling, puppetry, craft, and music.

All workshops can be tailored for any primary age group - from Reception to Year 6. We also create bespoke workshops to meet your specific needs or tied to specific subjects or books. Our sessions promote personal development, creativity, and self-expression, making learning a magical adventure.

Example workshops

  • A woman with short dark hair, wearing a yellow long-sleeve shirt and denim overalls, is smiling and holding papers in a storytelling workshop. Children are sitting at tables in the background.

Create and Perform Your Own Story

Encourage your young storytellers to reimagine their favourite bedtime tales! In this 60-minute session, children will explore the library for inspiration, creating their own stories with words or pictures. This engaging workshop promotes creativity and literacy skills.

  • Two people manipulate a puppet mannequin with a round head, dressed in beige fabric, on a wooden table.

    Emotional Awareness and Mental Health

A rich, interactive and powerfully effective workshop for children. Using drama games, play, music and our amazing puppets, we explore children’s awareness, understanding and expression of their feelings and emotions.

  • A woman at a table with two young children, demonstrating storytelling or a craft activity, with a lit background display and promotional materials on the table.

    Shadow Puppets - Creating characters

Children will devise and perform their own shadow puppet stories in this 60-minute workshop. Each child will create a unique character puppet and collaboratively shape the narrative, culminating in a performance.

  • A performer dressed as a fairy holding a puppet with the face of a donkey. The performer appears on stage with a black backdrop, expressing a dramatic or intense emotion.

    Shakespeare - A Midsummer Mischief

Through interactive storytelling, songs, games and drama we'll make our way into the forest of Athens on midsummer's eve. We'll meet warring fairies, run-away lovers and a donkey-eared actor called Bottom. Introduce your children to the wonderful words and worlds of Shakespeare through drama and fun.
